Janasena-TDP alliance blessed by BJP says Pawan Kalyan, declares action plan along with Nara Lokesh
Both the leaders met on Monday after Nara Lokesh met jailed former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu at the Central Prison to chalk out a common minimum agenda to ensure smooth working of the cadre from both the parties
RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Jana Sena Party (JSP) President Pawan Kalyan said that his party is a partner of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)and the national party very well know about Jana Sena’s alliance with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Addressing a joint press conference along with Nara Lokesh the TDP working president, after the three-hour first Joint Action Committee (JAC) meeting of the Janasena and TDP parties in Rajamahendravaram, the actor-turned-politician said “Jana Sena is an NDA partner. But I have to tackle the issue of Andhra Pradesh, that is our priority. BJP also understood that and is positive about it.”
Both the leaders met on Monday after the TDP working president met the party national president and jailed former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu at the Central Prison to chalk out a common minimum agenda to ensure smooth working of the cadre from both the parties. Nara Lokesh announced that on the district level JAC meetings would take place on October 29,30 and 31 to bring cohesion among both the party workers. From November 1, a common minimum programme would be declared and the cadre would undertake door to door campaign on the joint manifesto of both parties.
“After we receive reports from all the districts we will undertake a programme demanding the Government to address the severe drought conditions in the State,” Lokesh said.
Answering a question on who would be the Chief Minister candidate of the alliance, Lokesh said that the first meeting was all about sorting out immediate problems faced by the State and not about seat sharing or power sharing. “ We have also passed three resolutions today, condemning the illegal detention of Nara Chandrababu Naidu, declaring the alliance, and justice to all sections of people,” he said.
Confident of winning the 2024 elections and forming a Government in Andhra Pradesh Nara Lokesh allayed fears that the cadre was not ready to work along with Janasena. “There is no such problem, that is why a district meeting was announced,” he said and Pawan Kalyan added, “We will not fight with each other.”
Pawan Kalyan said that as TDP had declared its manifesto the JAC will look into the matter of adding JSP’s manifesto to create a joint manifesto. “We have to ensure that anti-YSRCP vote should not divide. In 2014 we gave support to TDP as the State needed an experienced leader, we need to get rid of a disease called YSRCP and the TDP-JSP vaccine will do that,” Pawan Kalyan said.
