AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday adjourned the hearing of the writ petition filed by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Kodi Kathi attack case to October 17, 2023. Jagan had asked for a probe into the deeper conspiracy behind the attack on him by J Srinivasa Rao (Srinu).

The High Court directed the registry to give a number to the petition. YS Jagan filed a writ petition in the High Court challenging the dismissal of his plea by National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court, Vijayawada, for a probe into Kodi-Kathi attack on him at Visakhapatnam International Airport on October 25, 2018.

On July 25, the NIA Court dismissed YS Jagan's plea for a probe into a larger conspiracy. The Chief Minister approached the High Court and in his petition, he said that the NIA had filed its charge sheet without taking all the aspects into consideration. The accused Srinivasa Rao was deployed on duty by the canteen contractor without considering the history sheet on him.

Meanwhile, Visakhapatnam NIA additional district judge (ADJ) Court extended the remand of Srinu till October 27, 2023. Srinu pleaded the court to grant him bail as he was languishing in jail for five years in the case.
