AMARAVATI: Former Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas has filed a lunch motion petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday challenging the arrest of former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu as untenable and illegal.

The High Court while allowing the petition posted the hearing for Wednesday while issuing a notice to the Andhra Pradesh CID to file a counter. The counsel for Chandrababu Naidu in his petition said that the CID did not follow the laid down procedure while taking the former Chief Minister into custody.

The prayer which did not directly seek the release of Chandrababu Naidu, concentrated more on the omissions allegedly committed by the CID while arresting the former CM and after during transit from Nandyal to Vijayawada.

The former AG pointed out that the state Governor was not informed by the CID about the arrest of the former Chief Minister and the police behaved inhumanly by shifting him by road and delaying the process of questioning and the mandatory medical test.

Meanwhile, the ACB special court in Vijayawada would give its judgment on the House Remand petition filed on behalf of Chandrababu Nadu alleging that the life of the former CM was in danger.
