VIJAYAWADA: In a shocking incident, a minor boy allegedly killed a person brutally with a sharp-edged weapon in Vuyyuru, NTR District, on Friday due to land disputes. The accused however surrendered himself before the police after the incident.

According to Vuyyuru Police, the deceased was identified as J Gnaneswar Goud (47), a tenant farmer and native of Guraja village in Pamidimukkala mandal in NTR District. The deceased had taken land for lease near Vuyyuru Bypass road for agricultural purposes. One of the relatives of Gnaneswar also took a land lease adjacent to him and this led to frequent disputes between the two.

A minor boy, identified as P Naveen, developed a grudge against Gnaneswar for quarreling with his father over land disputes. On Friday, Naveen noticed Gnaneswar going to his agricultural field. He then decided to kill him with a sharp-edged weapon which he had already hidden near the agricultural field. After Gnaneswar reached his field, all of a sudden, Naveen attacked the deceased with a sharp-edged weapon. Gnaneswar, who sustained serious injuries, died on the spot. The minor fled the spot only after confirming the death of Gnaneswar, the police said.

Later, Naveen, along with the weapon, surrendered to the police. The deceased was shifted to Vijayawada Government General Hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered after recording the statement from the minor boy and shifted him to a juvenile's home, the police said.
