Mountaineer Suresh Babu scales 7 peaks, raises banners of Navaratnalu
Suresh Babu: CM Jagan is my hero, it is he who inspired me to scale mountains'. YSR Congress leaders extend financial help to him
KURNOOL: In an interesting development on Saturday, YSR Congress party leaders Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Lok Sabha member from Kurnool, along with Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of Yemmiganur MLA K Chennakesava Reddy, felicitated Suresh Babu, a 24-year-old mountaineer from Kurnool.
Hailing Suresh for his talent and dedication that led him to scale 7 summits and 25 mountains including the Mt Everest, the party leaders felicitated him for his remarkable feat.
Suresh Babu, who is an ardent follower of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had recently made national headlines for having hoisted several posters of his ‘real life hero Jagan’ and his policies or ‘Navaratanalus’ atop every peak he scaled.
Less than 24 hours after Suresh sought financial help and expressed his heartfelt desire to meet the Chief Minister, YSRCP top leadership reached out to him and extended financial support he wanted to scale more mountains in the days to come. The leaders ensured complete assistance from the government to fulfill all his dreams as a mountaineer. In fact, MP Sanjeev Kumar assured him recognition from the central government too for his achievements. He also assured him of help in getting the prestigious Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award from the Centre.
The leaders participated in a celebration of Suresh Babu and his family moving into a new home.
Lauding Suresh Babu, Yemmiganur MLA's son Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “We are very proud of him. What he has achieved is exemplary and worthy of recognition and appreciation. We will take care of all his financial problems and we will ensure that government provides him full support to achieve his dreams.”
The young boy who credits his achievement to the Chief Minister has been advertising the schemes launched by the YSRCP government at the top of the highest mountains he had scaled. Being the first South Indian to scale Mt Manaslu and Mt Lhotse, he decided to raise a banner of nine navartanalus (nine welfare schemes) launched by YS Jagan at the top of the peaks. Explaining the reason behind it, Suresh said his life changed due to the nine welfare schemes introduced by the Chief Minister after coming to power in 2019. He went on to say that since he belonged to a poor family, he had no money to realise his dreams but after seeing ‘Jagan Anna walk’ such a long distance of 3,648 km during his Padyatra, he was inspired by his dedication and committment and decided to follow his own dreams in a similar fashion.
Expressing his gratitude to YS Jagan, Suresh said, 'I raised posters of Andhra Pradesh’s government schemes on 9 highest mountains.
