Nara Lokesh made A 14 in IRR alignment scam case, CID files petition

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh CID on Tuesday filed a memo petition with the ACB Special Court adding TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh as accused number 14 in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road (IRR) alignment scam case.

In the same case, his father and former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu filed an anticipatory bail petition before the AP High Court. However, Nara Lokesh is currently camping in New Delhi coordinating with the Supreme Court lawyers team defending his father in various Courts. Nara Lokesh also recently declared that he will restart the Yuvagalam padayatra next week from Razole.

On September 11, the CID sought a Prisoner in Transit (PT) warrant for Naidu who is currently jailed in Rajamahendravaram Central Prison. The CID filed a petition before the ACB court to issue the warrant to Chandrababu Naidu in connection with the IRR case which was registered in 2022.

The CID booked the case based on the complaint made by Mangalagiri YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy. The CID in its preliminary investigation concluded that the then Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Municipal and Urban Development Minister P Narayana willfully changed the alignment of the inner ring road in a manner to benefit Lingamaneni Ramesh and his companies.

Chandrababu Naidu who was also the ex-officio chairman of the APCRDA allegedly benefitted certain people in the alienation of 500 acres of assigned lands and changing alignment of the IRR. The CID in its case mentioned the following as accused in the IRR case: N Chandrababu Naidu, P Narayana, Lingamaneni Ramesh, Lingamaneni Venkata Surya Raja Sekhar, KPV Anjani Kumar alias Bobby, Director of Ramakrishna Housing Private Limited, Heritage Foods Ltd, LEPL Projects Limited, LEPL Infocity Private Limited, LEPL Smart City Private Limited, Lingamaneni Agriculture Developers Private Limited, Lingamaneni Agro Developers Private Limited, Jayani Estates Pvt Ltd, Ramakrishna Housing Private Limited, Government officials, private persons and others. However, all the accused except Naidu and now his son Lokesh applied for anticipatory bail and the court granted them the same.
