Narasaraopet MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu resigns citing uncertainty within YSRCP
Addressing the media on Tuesday, Devarayulu said that there was political uncertainty and confusion within the party leadership regarding the fielding of a new candidate in Narasaraopet.
VIJAYAWADA: Narasaraopet MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayulu has resigned from the YSRCP and his Lok Sabha membership.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, Devarayulu said that there was political uncertainty and confusion within the party leadership regarding the fielding of a new candidate in Narasaraopet.
Devarayalu contested from the YSRCP in the 2019 elections and won from Narasaraopet. However with the Chief Minister YS Jagan making changes to constituencies, it was suggested that Devarayalu should contest from Guntur instead of Narasaraopet. He however decided to stick to Narasaraopet and has been unhappy since then.
The YSRCP has been considering fielding a BC candidate from the constituency. However, leaders from Palnadu district and other MLAs under the Narasaraopet Lok Sabha constituency said that it would be better for Devarayalu to continue. This led to a lot of discussions before Devarayulu decided to quit the party. He is most likely to join TDP soon.
Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayulu is third MP of the ruling party to announce exit in the last 15 days.
