HYDERABAD: Mylavaram MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad has scotched off rumors that he would be switching to another party. Speaking at a press conference in Vijayawada on Friday, Krishna Prasad said, "Certain TV channels and newspapers are speculating a lot about me quitting the YSRCP. It is all rumors on social media. The yellow media is driving this misinformation. I reiterate that my loyalties lie with the YSRCP.”

“Issues within the party are common and it is across all parties. I raised the issue of my differences with Jogi Ramesh to CM Jagan. The CM has asked me to concentrate on my AC and ignore the rest. YS Jagan has assured me that I will be in his team for 25 years. I will work with Jogi Ramesh to ensure YSRCP’s victory,” he said.

About TDP leader Nara Lokesh’s padayatra, Krishna Prasad said, “Not everyone who does the padayatra can become a Chief Minister. If that is the case, roads will be full of padayatra. Lokesh will not become the Chief Minister in his lifetime. His padayatra will cause serious damage to the TDP."

The MLA also slammed TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu for his anti-backward classes stance. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, he was leading the constituency on the path of development. “Has the TDP government worked even a quarter of what the Jagan government has done for the poor and the weaker sections? In five years TDP spent only ₹33,000 crore for the weaker sections. But YSRCP has spent ₹58,000 crore for SCs, ₹15,000 crore for STs, ₹18,000 for SC- Sub-Plan in just three-and-a-half years. Through DBT schemes, an additional ₹30,000 crores has been spent for the poor. CM Jagan said that he is ready to provide more help in the remaining phase of this government,” Krishna Prasad said.

The MLA also attacked TDP leader Devineni Uma. “People like Devineni Uma want to take advantage of my situation and are propagating negative news on social media. Being a former minister of TDP, he has shamelessly grabbed the land of a common man for his party office. That’s why he will only survive in a party where his leader hac robbed NTR of power to take control of the party,” he said.

Krishna Prasad said he was confident that the people of Andhra Pradesh would re-elect the YSRCP government and his dedication would be towards that goal and not juggling between parties.
