VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Government issued a Government Order (GO) on Thursday to initaite legal action against Jana Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan for his remarks against village and ward volunteers. The GO mentioned that Pawan Kalyan used “Defamatory, derogatory and venomous statements against village and ward volunteer system and the State Government in Eluru on July 9, 2023 during his Varahi Vijaya Yatra.”
"The volunteers, whose services, particularly during COVID, won all-round appreciation, are upset he had targeted them deliberately in a bid to bring down the image of the government and are now up in arms against him," the GO said.
"Government after careful examination of the matter and in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 199 (4) (b) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, hereby accord sanction to the concerned Public Prosecutor to make a complaint before the competent Court against the individual named Konidela Pawan Kalyan," the GO concluded.
Meanwhile, Pawan renewed his attack on volunteers on Thursday. He alleged that all the data collected by volunteers was being shared to an office in Nanakramguda in Hyderabad. "I have spoken to Union Home Minister Amit Shah regardint this. Those who have done wrong must be punished. The volunteers asked whom to complain to if an eight-year-old child is raped. A volunteer met her saying that her house was unfairly demolished in road widening. Pawan Kalyan said that Janavani was started for this reason.
