VIJAYAWADA: With all political parties busy in finalising tickets for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, candidates are trying to mount pressure on their party bigwigs to offer tickets. A similar scenario played out at the Jana Sena Party (JSP) headquarters in Mangalagiri which triggered the party president Pawan Kalyan.

Apparently, JSP received cheques with huge amounts from wealthy individuals in the form of party donations. However, many of those who donated set a rider to the party to offer them MLA or MP tickets in return for the favour.

When Pawan Kalyan came to know about this, he immediately asked his team to return the cheques from aspiring candidates. On Tuesday alone, seven cheques were allegedly returned by the JSP office.

Pawan seemed to have directed his team to not accept cheques from people whose intention is to get an MLA and MP ticket in return. Pawan announced that he would give tickets to only those candidates who are competent enough to win their seats.

He asked his team to accept donations only in kind and through UPI payments.
