HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh has set a world record by conducting Gram Sabhas in 13,326 village panchayats across the state in a single day.
The initiative was recognised by the World Records Union, which awarded an official certificate and medal to the state's Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department for this achievement. The record was established on August 23, and the award was presented by Christopher Taylor Craft, the Official Records Manager of the World Records Union, at an event in Hyderabad this morning.
Within 100 days of assuming power, the Andhra Pradesh Government, under the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department, reached this milestone. The large-scale participation of people in governance was acknowledged as the most significant village governance initiative ever conducted in a single day.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed his pride over this achievement, emphasising that it is a moment of immense pride for the state.
