PT warrant for Chandrababu Naidu in Fibernet scam case, CID to present him before ACB court on Monday
Naidu who is currently jailed in the Rajamahendravaram Central Prison in connection with the Rs 371 crore skill development scam, will be brought to the court on Monday to appear before the judge
VIJAYAWADA: The ACB special court in Vijayawada on Thursday granted permission to the Andhra Pradesh CID to issue a Prisoner in Transit (PT) warrant for former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in the APSFL scam case, known as the fibernet case.
The CID was directed to present Naidu in front of the court on Monday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Naidu who is currently jailed in the Rajamahendravaram Central Prison in connection with the Rs 371 crore skill development scam, will be brought to the court on Monday to appear before the judge.
The PT warrant in the fibernet case meant that Naidu whose quash petition was pending before the Supreme Court, might be remanded for 14 more days in judicial custody and not less than two days in police custody if the CID files a custody petition for five days to facilitate questioning Naidu in the APSFL case.
The ACB gave credence to the argument of CID counsel Vivekananda that while granting the PT warrant in the name of Naidu, even Naidu’s counsel Dammalapati Srinivas argued that the Government was acting with vengeance and was trying to prolong the incarceration of the former CM in jail.
The senior lawyers representing Naidu in the Supreme Court might also mention the PT warrant by the ACB court in Vijayawada to substantiate their argument of ‘regime revenge’ against Naidu by the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government.
