Purandeswari flays Jagan govt on bad roads in AP, lists out Centre’s aid to State
Purandeswari criticised the poor condition of roads in AP and reminded the YSRCP that National Highways were developed in the State with the cooperation of the Centre
VIJAYAWADA: BJP senior leader Daggubati Purandeswari criticised the poor condition of roads in Andhra Pradesh and reminded the YSRCP that National Highways were developed in the State with the cooperation of the Centre.
Speaking to the media in Vijayawada on Thursday, after assuming charge as Andhra Pradesh BJP President, Purandeswari said that she would strive hard to strengthen the party at a grassroots level. Reacting to the false propaganda against the BJP in the State, she said that Centre was extending all necessary support to the State without troubling the voters.
“The Centre is providing Rs 6,000 to farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. Even the Centre's funds are being used by the ruling YSRCP Government in the State for the distribution of the Rythu Bharosa scheme to the farmers. What happened to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s promise of providing Rs 12,500 to the farmers in AP?” the BJP Chief questioned.
Purandeswari said that the Centre had sanctioned around Rs 20,000 crore under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for the construction of 25 lakh houses in Andhra Pradesh in the last nine years. “Around 65 percent of the houses have been constructed in the State and it is a fact that 35 percent of the works are yet to be completed. The YSRCP has to respond to this anomaly,” she said.
Highlighting the welfare activities taken up by the BJP in Andhra Pradesh, Purandeswari said that within two years, all the National Educational Institutions were established in the State as mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014. She said that permission had also been given for the expansion of Vijayawada International Airport and construction of several airports in the State.
Slamming the YSRCP Government for its inefficiency, the BJP Chief claimed that Jagan Mohan Reddy had utterly failed in bringing new investments to the State. She also added that several reputed companies backed out from investing in the State in the last four years.
Stating that the law and order situation was pathetic, Purandeswari citied, “A class X boy burnt to death in Bapatla district and miscreants kidnapped the family members and auditor-friend of Visakhapatnam MP MVV Satyanarayana. This proves the failure of the YSRCP Government in maintaining law and order.”
