Raghurama Krishnam Raju demands action against former CID chief Sunil Kumar
MLA Raghurama Krishnam Raju urged Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu to take immediate action against ex-CID Chief Sunil Kumar for alleged intimidation of witnesses.
AMARAVATI: Undi MLA Raghurama Krishnam Raju has urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to take immediate action against former CID Chief PV Sunil Kumar, alleging that he has been intimidating key witnesses in an ongoing custodial violence case.
In a letter sent to the Chief Minister on Sunday, Raju called for Sunil Kumar’s immediate arrest.
Raju claimed that he was illegally arrested and subjected to harassment by the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government. He further alleged that there were three assassination attempts on his life during the YSRCP's rule. Following his complaint, a case of attempted murder was registered on July 11 at Pattabhipuram Police Station against several officials, including then-CID chief Sunil Kumar, Intelligence chief Seetharamanjaneyulu, then-Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Investigation Officer Vijayapal, GGH Superintendent Dr. Neelam Prabhavati, among others.
Raju stated that the investigation team had already gathered evidence, including statements from him and several other witnesses.
In light of recent reports related to this case, he alleged that Sunil Kumar had been intimidating key witnesses, including police officers and doctors. In his letter, Raju stressed the importance of placing Sunil Kumar under immediate custody to ensure the integrity of the investigation.
