NAGARI: Tollywood comedian and AP Electronic Media Advisor Ali on Tuesday expressed his readiness for an electoral contest against Power Star and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan. The actor was the chief guest at the Sankranthi festivities organised in Nagari by actress-turned-politician and Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister R K Roja.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Ali said that he was ready to contest from any seat, if asked by his party, YSRCP. To a pointed question from the scribes on whether he was ready to contest even against his friend Pawan Kalyan, the actor said that he would do so, if ordered by Chief Minister and YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
Ali also asserted that the YSRCP would surely win all the 175 Assembly seats in the state in the 2024 elections. He said that the people of Andhra Pradesh were aware of who did good for them. He also exuded confidence that R K Roja would retain her Nagari Assembly seat with a thumping majority.
To another question, he said that films and politics should be viewed separately, adding that Pawan Kalyan was his good friend. Ali reiterated that he would certainly take on Pawan Kalyan in elections if the need arose.
