Relief for Narayana in SSC paper leak case: AP HC quashes bail cancellation by Chittoor court
The bail was granted by Chittoor Magistrate court in September 2022, only to be cancelled by the Sessions Court
CHITTOOR: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday quashed the decision of the Chittoor Sessions Court, cancelling the bail of former Minister and TDP leader P Narayana in connection with the SSC question paper leak case. Narayana was earlier arrested by the Chittoor police after the 10th Class annual exam question paper was allegedly leaked in one of his schools in the district.
The bail was granted by Chittoor Magistrate court in September 2022, only to be cancelled by the Sessions Court, a month later. Following this, Narayana, the founder of Narayana Group of Educational Institutions, filed a petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, challenging the cancellation of his bail. The High Court on Tuesday quashed the Chittoor Sessions Court's decision cancelling the bail.
The High Court directed the Chittoor court to hear the case again and make its judgement on the bail in four weeks from now.
On April 27, 2022, a case was registered where it was stated that a Telugu language question paper of class 10 SSC was leaked at Nellepalli Zilla Parishad and was circulated in various WhatsApp groups.
