Sajjala decries media trial of YS Avinash Reddy, says MP not running away from CBI
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy took exception to the trial by media of YS Avinash Reddy, saying that the Kadapa MP was not trying to run away from the CBI
AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Government Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Friday took exception to the trial by media of YS Avinash Reddy, saying that the Kadapa MP was not trying to run away from the CBI and that there was no need to stalk him relentlessly.
Speaking to the media in Amaravati, he expressed disgust over what he described as “hounding of an upright Member of Parliament” while the real perpetrators behind the murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy were roaming freely on the streets. “How can anyone escape from an investigation agency like the CBI? He (YS Avinash Reddy) has attended the CBI inquiry five times and will do so in the future,” Sajjala clarified.
“While I condemn the attack on the scribes that were trailing the Kadapa MP in Hyderabad, I wonder why someone has to chase him to his hometown while their regional representatives on the way can as well do the job,” he commented, adding that the MP might not even know who the attackers were.
Objecting to the way certain media projected the inability of YS Avinash Reddy to attend the CBI office on Friday, Sajjala said that there was no need for the Kadapa MP to cite his mother’s ill-health as a reason to avoid the CBI probe. “The fact is that Avinash was in Hyderabad to present himself before the CBI. He might have informed the CBI officers that he would have to leave Hyderabad to be with his ailing mother,” Sajjala felt.
“Had there been any involvement of YS Avinash Reddy or his septuagenarian father (YS Bhaskar Reddy) in the murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy, the then Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu would have initiated action. It was Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy who handed over the case to the CBI,” he pointed out.
Suspecting that the CBI was pursuing a premeditated agenda leaving very pertinent players in the murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy scot free, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that it was Narreddy Rajasekhar Reddy, the husband of Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Dr Sunitha, who had hidden the letter purportedly written by the deceased before he was murdered.
“I suspect that Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Sunitha joined hands with Chandrababu Naidu who is known for manipulation of systems,” he said while expressing hope that justice would ultimately prevail.
