SC transfers YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case to Telangana CBI court
The Supreme Court ruled that the threat to the witnesses' lives is sufficient reason to transfer the case to another state
HYDERABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday transferred the sensational murder case of former Andhra Pradesh minister YS Vivekananda Reddy to a CBI special court in Telangana.
Dr N Sunitha, Vivekananda Reddy's daughter, petitioned the Supreme Court, requesting that the case be transferred to another state outside of Andhra Pradesh and that the investigation be overseen by a retired high court judge.
In October 2022, the Supreme Court agreed to transfer the case trial on YS Vivekananda Reddy murder outside of Andhra Pradesh. The Supreme Court ruled that the threat to the witnesses' lives is sufficient reason to transfer the case to another state.
