Skill scam: AP CID serves notice to TDP, seeks details of bank accounts
The CID which was establishing the trail of funds in the Rs 371 crore skill scam from suitcase companies into the TDP coffers, also sought details of the funds that were deposited into various bank accounts of the political party
AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday sent notices to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) asking the political outfit to submit details of its bank accounts before November 18, 2023. A CID constable personally handed over the notices to the TDP headquarters secretary Ashok Babu in Mangalagiri.
The CID which was establishing the trail of funds in the Rs 371 crore skill scam from suitcase companies into the TDP coffers, also sought details of the funds that were deposited into various bank accounts of the political party. The party head and former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu who was arrested in the case is currently out on bail due to poor health.
However, the TDP alleged that the CID was willfully targeting the party and harassing it in the name of inquiry. The party sources told media that the CID sent notices for the second time even as the TDPs’ petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court was pending before the bench. The TDP argued that details of funds donated by entities could not be disclosed publically.
