VIJAYAWADA: ACB special court in Vijayawada extended the judicial remand of skill development scam accused Nara Chandrababu Naidu till October 5. The former Chief Minister’s two-day extended custody also ended today at 5 pm at the Rajamahendravaram Central Prison.

Chandrababu Naidu was presented before the ACB Judge after the CID team completed questioning him at the prison conference hall on Sunday. After the mandatory medical test, he was virtually presented before the judge sitting at the ACB court in Vijayawada.

The judge asked the accused whether the CID followed the norms fixed by the court. In reply, Chandrababu Naidu answered that the team didn’t trouble him during the 11-hour-long questioning spread over two working days. Following this the judge issued orders extending the remand till October 5. The judge assured Naidu that a copy of the two-day interrogation report would be given to him in the due course of time.

Before Naidu was presented before the judge online, the CID officials left the Jail. Lawyers of Naidu also left the Jail and met Nara Lokesh at his camp office near the Central Prison.

It was reported that the CID intended to file a petition seeking custody of Naidu for three more days, for which the judge has said that the court will not take decisions mechanically. At the ACB Court counsel for Naidu Posani Venkateswarlu urged the judge that the court must explain the reason why the remand or the custody was to be extended. Public Prosecutor Jyothi and Special PP Vivekananda represented the CID at the ACB Court.

The ACB Court will be hearing the bail petition filed on behalf of Naidu on Monday. On Monday the special leave petition filed in the Supreme Court against the AP High Court’s verdict on the quash petition might be taken for hearing in New Delhi.
