Skirmish between Bandar MP Balashowry, Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani groups
Heated arguments were exchanged between Balashowry and Mandali Hanumantha Rao's followers at the event, leading to a minor scuffle in Gudivada
VIJAYAWADA: The internal squabbles in the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) have once again come to light in Krishna district after an altercation between the YSRCP leaders during a pension distribution programme in Gudivada on Saturday.
Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashowry along with his followers participated in a pension distribution programme in Gudivada. Local YSRCP leaders in good numbers participated in the programme while MLA Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao (Nani) couldn't make it to the event due to a family function.
At that moment, heated arguments were exchanged between Balashowry and YSRCP district vice president Mandali Hanumantha Rao's followers at the event, leading to a minor scuffle. Irked over by the behaviour of Balashowry's followers, Hanumatha Rao's followers created a ruckus in the town and damaged the cars parked on the road near Nehru Chowk. Following the attack, the MP's followers fled the spot.
With the situation going out of control, a team of police personnel rushed to the spot and spoke to Hanumantha Rao and sought his cooperation to restore normalcy in Gudivada. Meanwhile, in Machilipatnam, Bala Showry had locked horns with local MLA and former minister Perni Venkataramiah (Nani). The duo avoided participating in the same programme at a time for several months.
Now, the followers of Bala Showry created a ruckus in Gudivada, the home turf of Kodali Nani, which may cause severe damage for the party in Krishna district ahead of the assembly elections.
