NEW DELHI: A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti on Friday posted the hearing of a petition filed by MP Raghu Rama Krishnan Raju seeking to shift the cases related to the Disproportionate Assets case Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy pending with the CBI Court in Telangana to January 2024. However, no specific date was mentioned.

The petitioner urged the Court to shift further hearing of the cases to some other State alleging that the Telangana CBI Special Court took a long time to deal with the cases related to the present CM of Andhra Pradesh. The petitioner pointed out that the hearing in 11 cases was postponed 3,071 times and the accused filed hundreds of disposal petitions.

However, the bench expressed apprehensions on the intention of the petitioner saying that the petition was politically motivated. “You are not the aggrieved party here. Then why you are seeking a transfer of court?” the Bench asked.

While directing the CBI to file a counter, the apex court also sent notices to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and other accused in the cases.
