TDP all set to close down after 2024 elections: YS Jagan
YS Jagan claimed that the TDP was all set to down its shutters after the 2024 Assembly elections as people would not believe its ‘plagiarised kichidi election manifesto
KROSURU, PALNADU: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday claimed that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was all set to down its shutters after the 2024 Assembly elections as people would not believe its ‘plagiarised kichidi election manifesto which, he alleged, was copied from other political parties.
Addressing a public meeting in Krosuru of Palnadu district, YS Jagan accused opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu of backstabbing, cheating and spreading canards. In a scathing attack, he said that Chandrababu Naidu did not implement welfare schemes during the TDP’s regime as he did not have a generous heart.
“Since he has a capitalist mentality, he cheated all sections of society including women, farmers SCs, STs, BCs, minorities and EBCs and never made an attempt to implement welfare schemes. Naidu is a synonym for backstabbing, conspiracy, cheating and lies,” said YS Jagan.
“He (Chandrababu) does not have any achievements to his credit despite ruling the state for 14 years as the chief minister. People will not believe him for this reason. Naidu will close shop after this election,” the YSRCP chief predicted.
Eliciting a huge applause, YS Jagan shared that people alone were his strength and he did not enjoy the support of other political parties.
“You (public) are my courage and confidence. Unlike the TDP which enjoys the support of a gang of thieves and other political parties, I don’t enjoy the support of any political party. But I don’t fear as I have your support and the blessings of God,” YS Jagan asserted.
Taking a dig at the freebies announced by Naidu recently, the Chief Minister questioned, “28 years after becoming the Chief Minister for the first time and after 14 years of ruling, Naidu is coming out with declarations on Rayalaseema, BCs, SCs, STs, minorities and gas cylinders. Why did he not make these declarations during the TDP’s rule?”
“It is a war between the government which is implementing welfare schemes and the TDP which has pursued the ‘plunder, stash and devour’ (dochuko panchuko tinuko) policy. It is a war between a pro-people government and a pro-capitalist TDP,” he observed.
