Tension at Gollapudi TDP office; Devineni Uma, others start blood donation camp on road
TDP leaders led by Devineni Uma went to the TDP office to pay tributes to party founder NTR on his 27th death anniversary
VIJAYAWADA: Tension prevailed at the Gollapudi TDP office in Vijayawada after TDP leader Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and others staged a protest against the police preventing them from entering the party office on Wednesday. The former Minister and other TDP members launched a blood donation programme on the road in protest.
Reportedly, the TDP leaders led by Devineni Uma went to the TDP office to pay tributes to party founder NTR on his 27th death anniversary. But the police stopped them from entering the office citing lease issues.
Speaking to the media outside the office, Devineni Uma attacked the ruling YSRCP Government, alleging that the YS Jaganmohan Reddy regime was suppressing the voices of the opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh. He said that the police were acting at the behest of the YSRCP leaders who had stopped them from stepping into the office and even locked the doors.
He was enraged over the YSRCP leaders for bringing the office lease issues to the fore even on NTR’s death anniversary and alleged that they were repeatedly creating hurdles for the TDP.
