Tension at Tadipatri as JC Prabhakar Reddy resists construction of compound wall
Prabhakar Reddy alleged that the officials were constructing a compound wall at the Government junior college by covering a 40-foot road instead of the actual 60-foot road
ANANTAPUR: Tension prevailed at the residence of municipality chairman and TDP leader JC Prabhakar Reddy in Tadipatri on Monday after he tried to resist the construction of a compound wall at a Government junior college taken up by the municipal authorities under the Nadu-Nedu programme.
Prabhakar Reddy alleged that the officials were constructing a compound wall at the Government junior college by covering a 40-foot road instead of the actual 60-foot road, which was located opposite to his house in Sanjeev Nagar in Tadipatri. Similarly, there were also several allegations that Prabhakar Reddy had been using the Government junior college grounds for political activities for several years.
According to reports, Prabhakar Reddy’s followers reportedly filled the pits dug to construct the compound wall of the Government junior college without obtaining any permission from the municipal authorities. A complaint was filed against Prabhakar Reddy and his followers for destroying 54 pillars dug for the construction of a compound wall. Tadipatri police registered an FIR against 14 TDP leaders, including JC Prabhakar Reddy.
Meanwhile, police personnel gathered in huge numbers before the residence of Prabhakar Reddy and obstructed his followers from preventing them from stopping the construction workers of the compound wall. Earlier, Prabhakar Reddy and his followers obstructed the construction of a compound wall. The authorities issued 41CrPc notices to Prabhakar Reddy in this regard. However, Prabhakar Reddy refused to take notice from the police.
“I am not against the construction of a compound wall in Government junior college, but the officials should take up the works before taking accurate measurements in the grounds. Despite several appeals, there was no response from the municipal authorities over compound wall construction. I am objecting to the construction of the compound wall taken up violating the master plan. The municipal authorities are not investigating the concerns raised by me and are working at the behest of MLA Kethireddy Peddareddy,” Prabhakar Reddy said.
