Tremors cause panic in Chittoor district

CHITTOOR: Several parts of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh experienced tremors on Tuesday night. The locals panicked following the mild earthquake. The tremors, lasting for 10 seconds, were recorded in Palamaneru, Gantaur, Gangavaram, Keelapatla, Bandamida Jaravaripalli among other areas. Terrified residents ran out of their houses for safety, fearing something worse could happen.

According to reports, the tremors occurred three times in a span of 15 minutes. Several parts of the Chittoor district had earlier experienced mild earthquakes where several houses in Edigapalli, Chilakavaripalli, Shikaru and Gudavaripalli were damaged under its impact. Fortunately, no casualties or damage to property was reported from Tuesday night tremors.
