Visakhapatnam Police rescue couple from kidnappers, 3 arrested
The Visakhapatnam Police intercepted a vehicle near Payakaraopet and rescued a couple from alleged kidnappers on Thursday. Three persons were arrested in this connection

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam Police intercepted a vehicle near Payakaraopet in Anakapalli district and rescued a couple from alleged kidnappers on Thursday. Three persons were arrested in this connection. The victims have recently joined a real estate firm in the city. The couple, Lova Lakshmi and P Srinivasa Rao, were allegedly kidnapped by seven persons from Visakhapatnam and were whisked away in a car.
According to Four Town police, who were entrusted with the investigation, the three arrested persons, Brahmam, Pradeep Reddy and Sai Nikhil, knew the couple and worked with them in a real estate company based in Vijayawada.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the couple was involved in a fraud to the tune of Rs 3 crores in the Vijayawada-based firm and shifted their base to Visakhapatnam. Police are searching for the remaining four alleged kidnappers.
The incident of the alleged kidnapping sent shockwaves in the city which had only recently witnessed a similar incident when Visakhapatnam MP MVV Satyanarayana’s family members were kidnapped for ransom.
