Wrapping a towel around, boy complains to police against stepmom on Mother’s Day in Eluru

ELURU: In act of mischief, a schoolboy went up to a police station hall naked to lodge a complaint against his stepmother, on Mother’s Day, on the pretext that she had refused to give him a shirt when he was in a rush to get ready to go and greet his friend on the latter’s birthday.

The incident that occurred in Eluru, on the face of it, seemed hilarious, but the police detected that the 11-year-old Dinesh tried to play prank with the police too, besides threatening his stepmother.

However, his rage against her was not totally unreasonable or unfounded.

Sai Dinesh wrapped a towel around his waist and walked up to the two town police station in Eluru town on Sunday morning.

The lad told the police that he was denied a shirt even as he was getting ready to go and greet his friend on the latter’s birthday. Soon after taking shower, he had asked his stepmother.

According to Circle Inspector Chandrasekhar Rao, the boy is living with his father and stepmother in Kothapet of Eluru. He’s completed his fourth standard in school and will be getting into fifth grade. He lost his mother a couple of years ago as she died of illness. His father married again. The boy also has a younger sister.

Sai Dinesh asked his mom to give him a white shirt to get dressed up.

The boy went to the police and informed them that his stepmother refused to give him the shirt and, on the other hand, warned him not to step out of the house. The boy also alleged that she had beaten him, as he was nagging.

However, the CI told NewsTAP that he had called his parents and counselled them. In the process, the Inspector learned that this was not the first time that the boy had lodged a complaint against her. He nursed a grudge against her as she was trying to caution him to attend the school regularly and also study well.

The police gave a counselling to the boy also not play pranks with law and told him that he must study well and come up in life. The police in fact had register a case against her a few months ago for scarring him with a hot metal piece for being mischievous.

The CI said that the boy had threatened his stepmother saying that the property (of his father) belonged to him and that she should behave. The boy had earlier complained against his grandparents also.

“We have counselled him and will keep an eye on the boy to help him get into the grew of studies. But the boy lied to us and he’s naughty and disobedient.”
