YCP MLAs degraded actors, why no action on Ambati? TDP questions
My profession and actors in general were belittled by the ruling party MLAs in the Assembly, said actor and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna
AMARAVATI: My profession and actors in general were belittled by the ruling party MLAs in the Assembly, said actor and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna.
Speaking to media after he was suspended from the Assembly along with 15 Telugu Desam Party MLAs on Thursday for their unruly behavior, Balakrishna said that he reacted when the treasury benches heckled him of being an actor.
“Founder of the TDP, NT Rama Rao was an actor too. He gave political life to many leaders and introduced many flagship welfare schemes. YCP legislators degraded the actors with their comments, mine was just a knee-jerk reaction,” he said. Recalling the events that occurred in the State Assembly, Balakrishna said that the Assembly was run in an autocratic manner.
Terming the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu, Balakrishna said that the former CM was a brand unto himself. “The Chief Minister is acting in a vengeful manner. “I met Naidu in the jail. He is confident because he is truthful. In this State, bureaucrats were forced to do things they did not want to do. There is security to anyone’s life here,” he said.
Coming in support of Balakrishna, TDP Andhra Pradesh unit president Kinjarapu Atchennaidu said that the members of the ruling party provoked the TDP MLAs on the floor of the house. “Why no action was initiated on Ambati Rambabu who also twirled his moustache,” he questioned. He wanted to know why the YCP Government had to run the Assembly under the security blanket of 200 marshals.
