YCP moves lunch motion petition in High Court against 'Postal Ballot' Rules
YSRCP has approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court against the memo given by CEO MK Meena not to reject the vote even if there is no RO seal on the postal ballot.
AMARAVATI: YSRCP has approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court against the memo given by CEO MK Meena not to reject the vote even if there is no RO seal on the postal ballot.
“New rules have been issued against the ECI guidelines on counting of postal ballot votes. This could lead to clashes during the counting,” YSRCP leader Lella Appireddy who filed a lunch motion petition challenging the memos given by the Election Commission said.
The court agreed to hear the lunch motion petition urgently today. The Election Commission had already made it clear that the postal ballot paper would be valid even if the returning officer did not put a seal on the back.
Meanwhile, the TDP leaders said that the YCP has gone to the High Court as all the employees were inclined towards the alliance.
“The YCP is doing petty politics to ensure that the postal ballot votes are not valid. All the employees are supporting the alliance and the YCP leadership is also aware of this. That is why they have approached the High Court intending to increase their vote share by invalidating the votes,” former Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said.
