BHOGAPURAM: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy will be laying a foundation stone for the construction works of Bhavanapadu Port in Srikakulam district on April 19. Ministers Gudivada Amarnath, Adimulapu Suresh and Seediri Appalraju on Monday visited Mulapet of Santabommali mandal, chosen as the venue of a public meeting that YS Jagan will address on this occasion.
The ministers, after inspecting the venue, held a meeting with Srikakulam District Collector Srikesh Lathkar and district Superintendent of Police Radhika and reviewed the arrangements including the convenient routes for the public to attend the meeting.
The ministers, while directing the officials to put in all the arrangements for the public meeting well within the schedule, also asked them to complete the compensation process for the displaced families who gave their lands for port construction under the Rehabilitation and Resettlement process.
Sub-Collector Rahul Kumar Reddy, Maritime Board Chairman Kayala Venkata Reddy, YSRCP leaders and others were present on the occasion.
The Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board (APMB) completed the Rs 3,600-crore tender process for Phase-1 works which were awarded to Vishwa Samudra Group. The port will be built in such a way that it can handle 10 million tonnes of cargo per annum.
