AMARAVATI: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, virtually launched the Rs. 100 crore edible oil refinery Godrej Agrovet Limited at Chintalapudi in Eluru district on Thursday and laid foundation stones for three other firms.

He unveiled plaques for the Rs. 610 crore bio-ethanol manufacturing unit Kribhco Green Energy Pvt Ltd, the Rs. 315 crore ethanol manufacturing unit Viswa Samudra Bio Energy in Sarvepalli, Nellore district, and the Rs. 400 crore soluble coffee manufacturing unit CCL Food and Beverages Ltd in Varadayi Palem Kuvvakolli, Tirupati district.

Speaking from the camp office here on Thursday, the Chief Minister described the occasion as "a wonderful moment" and said that the new units would bring direct and indirect employment to approximately 2,500 people.

The Kribhco and Viswa Samudra bio-ethanol factories at Sarvepalli, with capacities of 500 and 200 kilo litres, respectively, would employ over 1000 and 500 people and would be a game changer in the district's economic growth, he said.

The CCL coffee manufacturing unit in Tirupati district, with an annual production capacity of 16,000 tonnes, would employ 400 people directly and indirectly.

The Chief Minister congratulated the industrialists for their interest in developing these facilities and wished them well.

“I am happy to note that the 400-ton capacity edible oil unit in Eluru district has started its operations within nine months of giving permission. It is providing employment to 500 people,” he said.

He was overjoyed that the Memorandums of Understanding(MoUs) inked during the global investors' forum in Visakhapatnam had been transformed into reality.

District Collectors, people's representatives, and officials from the industries department, as well as representatives from the different companies, virtually took part in the programme.

IT and Industries Minister G. Amarnath, Chief Secretary Dr. K.S. Jawahar Reddy, Special Chief Secretary R. Karikal Valaven (Industries and Commerce), Agriculture Principal Secretary Chiranjeevi Choudary, Industries Joint Director Padmavati, AP Food Processing Corporation CEO L. Sridhar Reddy, several industrialists and senior officials were present.
