YS Viveka murder case: YS Avinash Reddy asks CBI for 4 days times to attend questioning
Contrary to expectations, YSRCP MP from Kadapa YS Avinash Reddy did not appear for questioning by the CBI in connection with the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case
HYDERABAD: Contrary to expectations, YSRCP MP from Kadapa YS Avinash Reddy did not appear for questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday in connection with the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. He wrote to the probe agency seeking four days of time, citing pre-scheduled engagements and also the short notice given to him.
Conflicting reports emerged with some claiming that the MP did indeed turn up at the CBI’s office in Hyderabad at 11 am on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, and sought more time. Some other reports stated that he had written to the Central agency expressing his inability to attend the questioning. In the letter purportedly written by him, Y S Avinash Reddy reportedly informed the CBI authorities that he would be able to appear before it for questioning after four days.
There has been no confirmation from the CBI to this end. Reports claimed that YS Avinash Reddy had left for Pulivendula from Hyderabad on Tuesday after sending his letter to the probe agency.
After a 20-day respite, the CBI once again intensified its probe into YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case by serving a fresh notice on the young Kadapa MP. He was summoned to appear before the agency at its Hyderabad office at 11 am on Tuesday. The CBI served the notice under section 160 of the CrPC. The probe agency had already questioned the YSRCP leader twice in connection with the case.
The CBI claims to have clinching evidence on the complicity of YS Avinash Reddy, his father YS Bhaskar Reddy and Devireddy Sivasankar Reddy in the sensational murder case. The MP has been pleading innocence and that he was being deliberately implicated in the case over the death of his uncle while the real culprits were being shielded.
