YS Viveka murder: YS Avinash Reddy seeks 10 more days to appear for CBI questioning

HYDERABAD: YSRCP MP from Kadapa YS Avinash Reddy has reportedly sought 10 more days time for appearing before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for questioning in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case.
The MP has been evading the questioning repeatedly in the recent past amid speculation that the probe agency might act decisively against him. Last week, YS Avinash Reddy played truant at the last minute citing heart attack to his mother and expressed to the CBI his inability to appear before it for questioning. His mother Lakshmamma, who was initially admitted to EC Gangi Reddy Hospital in Pulivendula was later shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment. YS Avinash Reddy’s lawyers then told the CBI that the MP alone had to take care of his mother since his father was also in jail in connection with the case.
Later, serving fresh notice for the umpteenth time, the CBI has asked the YSRCP MP to appear before it on May 22, 2023 at its Hyderabad office.
It was not immediately clear what was the grounds mentioned by YS Avinash Reddy to seek 10 more days’ time to appear for questioning and how the CBI has responded to it.
