YS Viveka murder: CBI announces arrest of YS Bhaskar Reddy due to crucial role

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials have announced that the agency has arrested Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy's father YS Bhaskar Reddy in connection with YS Vivekananda Reddy's murder case and said that they would produce him before the CBI magistrate in the afternoon of Sunday.

Stating that YS Bhaskar Reddy played a crucial role in the murder, the CBI alleged that the former had met the murder accused at his residence in Pulivendula before and after the murder of Vivekananda Reddy.

The CBI cited YS Lakshmi and P Janardhan Reddy's statements as witnesses.

The investigation agency said cases under IPC sections 120 B (criminal conspiracy), read with 302 (murder), and 201 (of tampering with evidences) were booked against Kadapa MP's father YS Bhaskar Reddy.

A team of CBI officials after intensifying the probe of YS Vivekananda murder case went to YS Baskar Reddy's residence in Pulivendula on Sunday morning. They detained YS Bhaskar Reddy and YS Avinash Reddy's Personal Assistant Raghava Reddy after issuing an arrest memo to his wife YS Lakshmi.

The CBI sleuths also went to YS Avinash Reddy's residence in Hyderabad to question him.
