YS Viveka murder: YS Avinash Reddy asked to appear before CBI again on Feb 24
The CBI sleuths have once again served notices to Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy asking him to attend the probe on February 24 at 3 PM in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case
HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths have once again served notices to Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy asking him to attend the probe on February 24 at 3 PM in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case.
The CBI sent notices through WhatsApp to the MP to appear before the agency in Hyderabad.
Earlier, the CBI grilled YS Avinash Reddy for four hours on January 28 related to the calls made by the latter on the day of the murder. The investigative agency also served notices to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's OSD Krishna Mohan Reddy along with YS Bharti's assistant Naveen and questioned them.
The CBI will be questioning Kadapa MP over the allegations of tampering of evidence at the scene of Viveka's murder through his henchmen
Devireddy Sivashankar and Erra Gangireddy by offering Rs. 40 crore ‘supari’ for the murder.
If the questioning points to any suspicion of guilt or complicity of the MP, the CBI may take any action including the arrest of YS Avinash Reddy.
The CBI asked Avinash Reddy’s father, YS Bhaskar Reddy, to appear before them on February 23.
However, Bhaskar Reddy reportedly informed the CBI that he was not able to attend the probe as he had previously arranged engagements. The CBI, however, did not give any response to the plea. The CBI said it had exempted Bhaskar Reddy from appearing before it in Hyderabad and instead the officials would go over to Pulivendula in view of his age.
It may be recalled that Bhaskar Reddy was questioned twice earlier in the case at Pulivendula
