HYDERABAD: Sensational claims were made in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case during the hearing on a petition filed by YS Bhaskar Reddy in the Telangana High Court on Tuesday. The counsel for YS Bhaskar Reddy claimed that YS Vivekananda Reddy sexually harassed the mother of Sunil Yadav, one of the key accused in the murder case.
To exact revenge for this, Sunil Yadav eliminated the former minister and brother of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy on the fateful night of March 15, 2019, the petitioner’s advocate alleged in the High Court. YS Bhaskar Reddy filed the petition challenging the discretion of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to name Dastagiri, one of the accused in the case, as an approver. He also took exception to the investigating agency basing its investigation purely on the testimony given by Dastagiri and not paying heed to the facts that they had disclosed in writing.
YS Bhaskar Reddy and his son and Kadapa YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy had been questioned a few times by the CBI so far. Based on Dastagiri’s statement, the probe agency felt it necessary to quiz the father and son duo to investigate their possible involvement in the murder.
The Telangana High Court posted the matter to April 13, 2023 for further hearing. YS Bhaskar Reddy and YS Avinash Reddy have been accusing the CBI of not being fair in its investigation and attempting to implicate them in the case to shield the real culprits. The CBI, on the other hand, claims that it is armed with key evidence on the alleged involvement of the Kadapa MP in the murder. It alleged that YS Avinash Reddy had visited the houses of the accused hours before and after the gruesome murder.
However, Bhaskar Reddy and Avinash Reddy contend that the CBI had merely based its assumption on the Google Takeout images available on the phone even as there was no cognizable evidence on the MP’s physical presence there at the time.
