BENGALURU: YSRCP leader and Director of Andhra Pradesh Bondili Corporation Rasaputra Rajini and two others were arrested by the Bengaluru police recently in a fake currency circulation case. Rasaputra Rajini, who hails from Proddutur of Kadapa district, was appointed as the director of Bondili Corporation a few years ago by the YSRCP government.
Rajini was arrested after she was caught circulating fake Rs 500 notes in Bengaluru. In all, the police seized 818 fake notes amounting to Rs 4,09,000, from the possession of the three persons. The arrests were made two days ago but the news came out on Tuesday.
Quoting the Bengaluru police, a few reports claimed that Rajini was involved in the fake currency notes business for a long time. As part of their modus operandi, the accused would bring the fake notes from Anantapur, at a lower price and circulate them in Bengaluru. Rajini was also accused in the past of extracting huge amounts from unemployed youths by promising to provide them with employment.
Meanwhile, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and Proddutur incharge Praveen Kumar Reddy demanded a CBI investigation into the case. He alleged that Rasaputra Rajini was a close aide and disciple of Proddutur MLA Rachamallu Sivaprasada Reddy. Accusing the MLA’s involvement in the case, he said that a detailed probe would unravel the truth.
Praveen Kumar Reddy said that he would lodge a complaint with the CBI seeking its investigation into the case.
