ICHACHAPURAM: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy asserted that his party's victory in the upcoming simultaneous polls for the Assembly and Lok Sabha would have a significant impact on Delhi. "Votes given to the fan symbol (YSRCP) will send tremors to Delhi," he said.

He made the statement during an election campaign rally at Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district on Tuesday.

Addressing a large gathering, Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasised the power of the people's vote and encouraged them to exercise it to make their voices heard in Delhi. "I am being showered with love and blessings from the people. Every resident of this state is aware of the schemes the opposition is attempting to orchestrate. Women, the elderly, and the youth need to be vigilant. The power of the people lies in their vote, and they will use it resoundingly to make their voices heard in Delhi," he said.

The Chief Minister urged voters to accept any cash offers from opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu, stating that these funds were essentially taken from them. "Accept the money Chandrababu is offering; don't refuse it. It rightfully belongs to us. It was Jagan who initiated the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), ensuring it reaches the poor. Chandrababu Naidu, however, is distributing our funds by taking them away from us. But when you cast your vote, consider the positive impact and welfare measures the government has provided for you," he explained.

Jagan Mohan Reddy highlighted his government's achievements, including the decentralisation of the North Andhra Pradesh region, the creation of three new districts, and the doubling of the number of district superintendents and collectors. He also mentioned several development projects, such as the Mulapeta port worth Rs. 4,400 crore, two new fishing harbours, and the rapid progress on the Bhogapuram Airport.

Jagan criticised the opposition for allegedly obstructing ongoing and budgeted welfare schemes. "The opposition headed by Naidu is trying to trouble your child, Jagan, by obstructing the already ongoing and budgeted schemes. If your son has to approach the court to disburse the funds of ongoing schemes, understand the level of conspiracies being transpired against your son," he said.

The Chief Minister promised that if YSRCP wins, Visakhapatnam would become the executive capital, with him taking oath as Chief Minister there on June 4. He emphasised the importance of voting to support the party and ensure continued welfare and development. "I am confident that the power of the people lies in their votes, and they will exercise it to make their voices heard. The votes given by my sisters, brothers, and elderly by pressing on the fan button will send tremors to Delhi too," he said.
