Will bring down prices after TDP comes to power in 2024: Nara Lokesh
Nara Lokesh asserted that he would bring down the prices of essential commodities after his party came to power in 2024
CHITTOOR: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National General Secretary Nara Lokesh on Sunday asserted that he would bring down the prices of essential commodities after his party came to power in 2024. Lokesh, who began his third day of Yuva Galam Padayatra in Shantipuram of Kuppam, made this claim while speaking to a gathering.
Addressing women, who turned up at his Padayatra at Balaji Kalyana Mandapam, Nara Lokesh accused YS Jaganohan Reddy of coming to power with false promises and failing to deliver on all fronts.
He claimed that the YSRCP Government was not extending the Amma Vodi scheme government to 90 percent of people. He also accused that there was no security for women in the state and cited that the Disha Act brought about by the YSRCP Government had no sanctity and was of no use for the safety of women.
The TDP MLC further said that the YSRCP government under the leadership of YS Jagan had failed to attract investments into the state and instead drove already well-settled companies out of the state.
Claiming that the TDP was the party which brought empowerment to women, Lokesh called on women to be aware of what was going on in the state regarding their safety and the skyrocketing prices of essential goods. He assured the women of reducing the prices of essential commodities after TDP came to power.
A few reports claimed that the women, during their interaction with Lokesh, complained about the the exorbitant prices of all essential commodities, power tariffs and other charges and that they were finding it difficult to make their both ends meet. This apart, taxes are being levied now even on garbage and the house tax has been hiked. The RTC fare has also been revised now following which they are unable to lead normal life, they claimed, according to these reports.
The local women also reportedly complained to Lokesh that the YSRCP Government was deliberately weakening the DWCRA groups and the money in the savings accounts was being diverted. They also told the TDP general secretary that pensions for several people were stopped and if anyone dared take the matter to the notice of the authorities concerned, police cases were being registered against such persons. The women wanted self-employment opportunities to be created.
