2 Vijayawada students drowned, 4 missing at Suryalanka beach

BAPATLA: A picnic at the beach turned into a tragedy for a group of eight students from Vijayawada. Two students were drowned to death while four others went missing at Suryalanka beach in Bapatla on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Abhi and Siddu, both aged 15.

According to information available, eight students from Vijayawada went to Suryalanka beach in Bapatla. The students decided to bathe in the sea despite the warning and were swept into the sea by strong currents resulting in the death of two.

However, two of the other students reached ashore while four others were missing. The search operations were underway to trace the missing students.
