The government plans on providing free tabs to students from class 8 to class 10 for them to access online study materials

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Government is instituting advanced learning in Government schools by tying up with the Edtech company BYJU'S. The project would equip students of public schools with online study materials and video classes. The government plans on providing free tabs to students from class 8 to class 10 for them to access online study materials. The content will be provided by BYJU'S. The AP Government and BYJU'S signed a Memorandum (MoU) on Thursday.

The government would be investing Rs. 500 crore for this project through which around 32 lakh students will be benefitted. Teachers will also be trained by professional trainers.

Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, School Education Commissioner S. Suresh Kumar, BYJU'S Vice President (Public Policy) and other officials were present at the signing event.

The Chief Minister, in conversation with BYJU'S said: "The ultimate objective of the entire project is intended at handholding the children for them to pass out with flying colours when they appear their class 10 Board examinations. That is the dream of the government and your (BYJU'S) partnership would give great strength to that."
