APNGO protest against illegal detention of employees
The Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Government Officers (APNGO) association called for protests against the illegal detention of employees across the State
AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Government Officers (APNGO) association called for protests against the illegal detention of employees across the State on Thursday. They said that they would observe 'Vidroha Day' and protest at all the district collector offices wearing black badges.
The APNGO leaders were enraged over illegal arrests of the employees despite calling off the 'Chalo Vijayawada' and Chief Minister residence Siege programs to be held on September 1 in demand for the abolition of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).
Leaders of the employees union claimed that cases were filed against twelve union leaders and 200 employees in Srikakulam and demanded immediate withdrawal of the cases filed against the employees across the State.
The APNGO leaders said that their protests would not stop if the government would not fulfill its promise made during the election to abolish the CPS system. Meanwhile, the 'Chalo Vijayawada' program which was called off due to various reasons would be held on September 11.
