Civic staff demolish wall at Ayyanna Patrudu's house

VISAKHAPATNAM: Police have been deployed at the residence of former minister and Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) politburo member Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu on Sunday morning after the Narsipatnam municipality's staff bulldozed the wall of his house during the early hours of Sunday.
The Narsipatnam Municipal Commissioner had said in a notice, which was earlier sent to Ayyanna, that the house was built on government land and it was built to occupy an irrigation canal.
The police have currently closed two entrances leading to Ayyanna Patrudu's house and forces have been deployed under the supervision of Narsipatnam ASP. Barricades have been set up at the house to prevent untoward incidents.
The family members opposed the demolition of the wall and alleged that they had only received an eviction notice on June 2 and the municipal staff started the demolition without prior intimation. Ayyanna Patrudu's wife, Chintakayala Padmavati accused the YSRCP government of resorting to atrocities against her husband. She said she was deeply saddened by the incident.
