Jagan pats Veerabhadra Swamy, new Deputy Speaker of AP Assembly

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy congratulated the newly elected Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Assembly. YSRCP MLA Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy was unanimously elected as the new Deputy Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh assembly on Monday.
The speaker of the Assembly Tammineni Sitaram announced the only nominee, Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy as Deputy Speaker.
Addressing the Assembly, Jagan said that he was happy that Veerabhadra Swamy became the deputy speaker. Stating that the new Deputy Speaker had won as an MLA twice and served as MLC, Jagan thanked him for contributing to the YSRCP after resigning from the Congress party.
The Chief Minister also lauded the services of Kona Raghupathi, who worked as Deputy Speaker for the last three years. Jagan said that Kona had obliged with his decision to give a chance to a person of another community to maintain the uniformity in giving the posts. "It is a good custom to give an equal opportunity to everybody in the party," Jagan said.
However, the Chief Minister congratulated Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy and wished him to do better in his new role as Deputy Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh assembly.
The newly elected Deputy Speaker thanked the Chief Minister and the members for electing him unanimously and said that he would give his best to maintain the decorum of the House and sought the cooperation of members.
