Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala to be closed on Oct. 25, Nov.8 due to eclipses
TTD said that the Tirumala temple would be closed for almost 12 hours due to Surya Grahanam and Chandra Grahanam
TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) on Tuesday said that the Tirumala temple would be closed for almost 12 hours due to Surya Grahanam (solar eclipse) on October 25 and Chandra Grahanam (lunar eclipse) on November 8.
The Surya Grahanam would occur between 5:11 pm and 6:27 pm. The temple doors will be shut by 8:11 am and will be re-opened at 7:30 pm after the 'suddhi rituals.' Similarly, on the day of Chandra Grahanam, which would occur between 2:39 pm and 6:19 pm, the temple doors will be closed by 8:40 am and will be re-opened at 7:20 pm.
Owing to the eclipses, the TTD cancelled VIP break darshan and special darshans. Arjitha Sevas such as Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Brahmotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Sevas would also not be carried out on these two days. All the privileged darshans including senior citizens, physically handicapped, parents with infants, NRIs, Defence Personnel and other darshans also would be cancelled. The Annaprasada Bhavan would be closed.
Sarva Darshan pilgrims are allowed for darshan after the re-opening of temple doors, through VQC-II on these two days. TTD appealed to the devotees to plan their pilgrimage accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
