Monkeypox case reported in Visakhapatnam

HYDERABAD: A suspected monkeypox case was reported in Visakhapatnam. The patient was admitted to Gitam Hospital on Friday. The district collector has directed that a team of specialist doctors known as the Rapid Response Team visit the patient and conduct surveillance screening and investigation.

The District Medical and Health Officer has written to the principal of Andhra Medical College, requesting for a visit by a team of specialist doctors to attend on the suspected case.
