NTR's wife Lakshmi Parvathi is ok with renaming of UHS after YSR
She expressed her rage that Chandrababu was spreading such evil propaganda solely for the sake of power.
HYDERABAD: Lakshmi Parvathi, N T Rama Rao's wife, lambasted a section of the media on Monday for its remarks about her in the wake of the controversy surrounding the name change of NTR Health University. She also sternly warned that anyone spreading false information about him would be held legally liable. Claiming that some media outlets were tarnishing NTR's reputation, she said that she came before the media to present the facts.
Addressing a press conference here, she said, "Some media outlets are carrying out personal attacks on me. My marriage to NTR was never well received by Nara Chandrababu. No one has the moral authority to talk about our marriage."
Lakshmi Parvati, who is also the Chairperson of Andhra Pradesh Telugu Academy, displayed her wedding photos and said, "We got married in front of everyone and NTR even called a press conference to announce our union. Those who betrayed NTR are speaking out about him now. Nobody can change the past. They are spreading false information about me, claiming that I attempted to harm the party in order to gain power. I was offered a Tekkali seat but I turned it down because I was never interested in politics."
Chandrababu's misdeeds, according to Lakshmi Parvathi, were the fault of his family members. She slammed TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, claiming that the maligning campaign is being carried out to divert Chandrababu's lust for power. She urged people not to believe such slanderous propaganda. She made it clear that she did not enter NTR's life for selfish reasons and that she never interfered with the party's affairs. She stated that everyone was aware of his fondness for NTR.
She stated that everyone knew his admiration for NTR. She expressed her rage that Chandrababu was spreading such evil propaganda solely for the sake of power. She recalled how TDP rose to prominence after entering NTR's life.
She even asked Chandrababu Naidu if, despite being in power for 14 years, he had ever named anything after NTR. She added that he had only named Health University after NTR to deceive the public, as they had finally realised the true face of Chandrababu Naidu.
"Why is Chandrababu Naidu worried about the Andhra Pradesh government changing the name now when he had previously planned to do so, despite constantly discussing the removal of NTR's name from Health University?", She wondered.
She even stated that she agreed with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on the decision to rename the NTR health university after YSR. "I know that YSR was a great doctor and that he even introduced the Arogyasri scheme for the underprivileged." She continued, "I shall ask Jagan to rename Vijayawada district after NTR rather than Health University."
