AMARAVATI: Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday directed authorities to appoint a special officer for the management of Government schools in the state. The Chief Minister reviewed the present condition of the schools along with senior officials and issued several key directions including establishing internet facilities in Government schools.
YS Jagan also asked the authorities to gear up and be ready for next year's 'vidya kanuka' scheme. "All the items offered under the scheme should be kept ready from April (next year) itself. Steps should be taken to set up Smart TVs in classrooms for digital teaching and the content of the textbooks should be made available in PDF forms," the Chief Minister instructed the officials.
Jagananna Vidya Kanuka is among the basket of welfare schemes launched by the YSRCP Government of YS Jaganmohan Reddy to improve standards and encourage students and their parents to opt for government schools in the state. A kit is provided to the students containing three pairs of school uniforms, textbooks, notebooks, a dictionary, a school bag, a belt and two pairs of shoes.
