Will resign to fight for Vizag as capital if CM agrees: Dharmana
Dharmana Prasada Rao announced that he would resign from his post and strive for the establishment of Visakhapatnam as the state capital
SRIKAKULAM: Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao on Friday announced that he would resign from his post and strive for the establishment of Visakhapatnam as the state capital if the people of Srikakulam and Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy gave their go ahead.
He participated in the YSRCP government's initiative, 'Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam' organised in Gara mandal. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that a great opportunity had opened up for the development of the region in the form of the proposed state capital and called upon the people of the district not to miss out on this. "If Visakhapatnam becomes the state capital, then there is scope for development and employment opportunities for the youth will also increase exponentially," said the revenue minister.
Taking an indirect dig at the pro-Amaravati campaigners, Prasada Rao claimed that he would not tolerate anyone who opposed the development of the region. Stressing on the importance of Visakhapatnam becoming the capital city, he exhorted the locals to fight for the same.
